How to convert PNG to JPG
- Open PicBrewery.
- Drop your
.pngfile (or many) on the drop zone. - Wait for the results row: JPEG, PNG, WebP and AVIF are produced in parallel. Download from the JPEG column.
- For many files, use Download all as ZIP.
When JPG beats PNG
PNG is lossless and supports alpha — great for UI and graphics. JPEG is usually much smaller for photographs and is the format most upload forms, email clients and legacy tools expect.
Use PNG→JPG when you have finished editing and need a deliverable that opens everywhere, not when you still need transparency.
Transparency
JPEG has no alpha channel. PicBrewery composites transparent PNG pixels onto a white background before encoding. For transparency, download PNG or WebP from the same results row instead, or see PNG to WebP.
Frequently asked questions
Why convert PNG to JPG?
Smaller files for photos and maximum compatibility when PNG is overkill or transparency is no longer needed.
What happens to PNG transparency in a JPG?
Alpha is flattened onto white. Use PNG or WebP output to keep full alpha.
Will the JPG be smaller than the PNG?
For photographic PNGs, almost always yes. For flat logos with few colors, PNG may already be tiny — compare bytes in PicBrewery.
Will EXIF survive?
No; metadata is stripped on re-encode. Keep the source PNG if needed.
Can I batch-convert?
Yes — up to 20 files, 20 MB each, 2 concurrent encodes, with Download all as ZIP.
