1. Who we are
PicBrewery (the "Service") is provided by Whisper Arts ("we", "us"). For any questions about these Terms, contact us at support@whisperarts.com.
2. What PicBrewery is
PicBrewery is a free online tool that converts and compresses image files (JPEG, PNG, WebP, AVIF and similar formats). All image processing happens entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly — your files are never uploaded to our servers.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Process images that you do not have the legal right to process (e.g. copyrighted material without permission, unlawful content, CSAM);
- Attempt to disrupt, attack or reverse-engineer the Service in ways that go beyond the rights granted by the open-source licences of our dependencies;
- Use the Service in a way that violates any applicable law or regulation in your jurisdiction;
- Use automated scripts to abuse the Service in a way that imposes a disproportionate load.
4. Your content
You retain all rights to the images you process with PicBrewery. We do not claim any ownership over them. Because processing happens in your browser, we do not receive copies of your images.
5. Intellectual property
The PicBrewery website, brand and source code (excluding third-party components) are owned by Whisper Arts. Third-party components are listed in the "Acknowledgments" dialog accessible from the home page and are licensed under MIT, Apache-2.0 or similar permissive licences.
6. Third-party services and ads
Subject to your consent (managed via the cookie banner), the website loads third-party scripts from analytics providers (Google Analytics, Yandex.Metrika) and ad networks (Google AdSense, Yandex Advertising Network). These providers operate under their own terms and privacy policies, which you should review separately. We are not responsible for the content of third-party ads.
7. Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied, including (but not limited to) implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement and accuracy. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that re-encoded images will be visually identical to the originals at all quality settings.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall Whisper Arts be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Because PicBrewery does not upload or store your files, we cannot recover or restore any data you may lose locally — please keep your own backups.
9. Changes to the Service or these Terms
We may modify, suspend or discontinue all or part of the Service at any time, and we may update these Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest change. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
