Comment compresser WebP
- Ouvrez PicBrewery.
- Drop your
.webpfile (or several) on the drop zone. - PicBrewery decodes the WebP and re-encodes JPEG, PNG, WebP and AVIF in parallel. Download from the WebP column.
- Use Download all as ZIP for batches.
How WebP re-compression works
WebP is already a modern codec. Re-encoding at tuned quality settings and stripping metadata can still save 5–20% on exports from design tools that use conservative defaults.
PicBrewery does not change image dimensions. For maximum savings on photos, compare the AVIF column — it is often smaller at matching quality.

Questions fréquentes
Does compressing WebP lose quality?
Lossy WebP re-encode is lossy. PicBrewery defaults to quality 75; adjust under Advanced settings. Lossless WebP sources stay lossless when that mode is selected.
Will animated WebP work?
PicBrewery targets still images. Animated WebP may only process the first frame — use a dedicated animated WebP tool for full animation.
Will alpha transparency survive?
Yes for WebP output — alpha is preserved in the WebP column.
Can I batch-compress WebP files?
Yes — up to 20 files, 20 MB each, with ZIP download.
Does PicBrewery resize WebP images?
No — re-encoding only, same pixel dimensions.
